1) Oilers star Connor McDavid is chasing Wayne Gretzky
Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid made NHL history last night, notching 3 assists to become the fastest player in league history to reach 20 assists to start a season (9 games).
- McDavid’s scorching start puts him on pace for 186 assists and 242 points, both of which would break all-time records set by Oilers legend Wayne Gretzky (163 AST, 215 PTS)—though it currently remains a long-shot.
- Even if he falls short, McDavid could become the 2nd player ever to join the 200-point club, with Gretzky having done so 4 times himself.
Can Connor continue his conquest?
