⚾ LSU Stuns Tennessee With Six-Run 9th, Walk-Off Bomb
The game was dead. The stadium was half-asleep. And then LSU lit the night on fire.
Down 3-0 and down to their final outs, the Tigers ripped off a six-run ninth inning — capped by Jared Jones’ monster 452-foot walk-off homer — to shock No. 6 Tennessee 6-3 at Alex Box Stadium. It was only the third time in program history LSU rallied from 3+ runs down after being shut out through eight innings.
It started with a routine grounder... until Tennessee’s third baseman threw it away. Two errors, a clutch two-run single from Dalton Beck (who had one hit all season), a game-tying single by freshman Derek Curiel, and finally, the swing heard all the way to the Mississippi River from Jones.
After a 205-minute weather delay and a midnight finish, LSU’s comeback wasn’t just improbable — it was legendary.
