1) NBA Playoffs see record viewership
The 76ers’ series-clinching win over the Celtics on Saturday drew 11M average viewers, making it the most-watched first-round Game 7 of all time.
- Overall, the NBA averaged 4M viewers/game during the opening round, up 22% from last year and the highest mark since 1993.
- NBA Conference Semifinal action continued last night, with the Thunder jumping out to a 1-0 lead over the Lakers, and the Pistons going up 1-0 on the Cavaliers.
2) CFB coaches back major league-wide changes
College football’s coaches association on Tuesday recommended a series of changes to the sport for the upcoming season and beyond.
- They include an end to conference championship games; for the CFP to “maximize” the number of participating teams; and for the CFP to end by the 2nd Monday in January.
- Coaches are also pushing to keep an exclusive window for the Army-Navy game in December—but allowing CFP games that day—and to reduce bye weeks from 2 to 1.
- While the association has no official authority, its member coaches sit on various NCAA decision-making committees.
3) Maple Leafs win NHL Draft lottery
Toronto jumped from the 5th-best odds to win Tuesday night’s NHL Draft Lottery, earning their first #1 overall pick since 2016.
- Penn State star LW Gavin McKenna, one of the highest-rated Canadian prospects ever to play college hockey, is widely considered the favorite to go #1 to the Maple Leafs.
- The San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Chicago Blackhawks, and New York Rangers round out the top five of the NHL Draft, to be held June 26-27.

4) Arsenal advance to Champions League final
Arsenal defeated Atlético Madrid 1-0 in the 2nd leg of their match on Tuesday to earn a 2-1 aggregate victory, sending the London-based soccer squad to the Champions League final.
- It’s Arsenal’s second-ever appearance in the final of Europe's premier soccer competition, after losing the 2006 title match to Barcelona.
- Bayern Munich (down 5-4) host PSG in the second leg this afternoon (2 pm CT), with the other spot in the Champions League final on the line.
5) DeChambeau to focus on YouTube if LIV Golf folds
Two-time major winner Bryson DeChambeau said Tuesday that he plans to focus on growing his YouTube channel by 3x or more if LIV Golf can't survive beyond this season without Saudi Arabian investment.
- DeChambeau also said he’d “love to play tournaments that want me,” but suggested the PGA Tour will likely hand out severe penalties before allowing him back in.
- DeChambeau was one of the biggest stars to join LIV Golf when it formed in 2022.
- He’s also arguably golf's biggest celebrity on social media, with his YouTube channel boasting ~2.7M subscribers and regularly hitting 1M+ views/video.
