1) World #1 Sinner stunned in French Open exit
Jannik Sinner, the world’s #1 tennis player, was eliminated by his 56th-ranked opponent Juan Manuel Cerundolo in Round 2 this morning.
- Sinner won the first 2 sets and took an early 5-1 lead in set 3. But he proceeded to lose the next 18 points, before going to the locker room for cramping amid sweltering heat.
- When Sinner returned, he lost that set and 2 more afterwards to Cerundolo, who closed out the upset win.
- Sinner had been on a 30-match winning streak, with the highest pre-tournament odds to win a Grand Slam (-300) since 2009 following an injury to world #2 Carlos Alcaraz.
- It’s the first time a men’s world #1 has lost before the 3rd round at a Grand Slam since Andre Agassi in 2000.
2) Hurricanes are one win from Stanley Cup Final
Carolina shut out Montreal 4-0 in Game 4 last night, giving the Hurricanes a 3-1 lead and placing them 1 win away from their 1st Stanley Cup Final since 2006.
- G Frederik Andersen made 18 saves for his 3rd shutout in 12 playoff games, while Nikolaj Ehlers and Shayne Gostisbehere each had 2 assists.
- The Hurricanes outshot the Canadiens 42-18 in Game 4, en route to improving their postseason record to 11-1.
- Game 5 is Friday night in Raleigh, with the series winner facing the Vegas Golden Knights—who swept the NHL-best Avalanche to make the Stanley Cup Final.

4) FIFA faces World Cup ticket probe
New York and New Jersey's state AGs issued subpoenas to FIFA officials in an investigation into its ticketing practices for 2026 World Cup games at MetLife Stadium.
- State officials say the probe will focus on claims that FIFA used “fake scarcity” in its ticketing practices by withholding blocks of tickets to drive up prices.
- It’ll also investigate claims that some fans were misled about the location of the seats before buying tickets.
